About the Project Lead

Poliana Bertolai

Lead Researcher & Creative Strategist

Poliana Bertolai is a Master’s candidate in Digital Media and Global Communication at the University of Niagara Falls Canada. With over 13 years of experience in photography and project management, she specializes in bridging visual storytelling and emerging technologies.
 
Through WelcomeAR, she applies human-centered and spatial design principles to address international students’ spatial anxiety, integrating immersive media with intercultural communication strategies to foster belonging.
