Embodied
Experience
An immersive spatial reflection on the mechanics of belonging
Research Rationale
This study investigates the “Embodied Experience” as a critical spatial intervention, framing immersive technology not merely as a technical interface, but as a site for reflective and embodied exploration.
By situating the participant within a controlled unity of mediated space, we examine the phenomenological shifts occurring during the early stages of institutional transition, where physical disorientation often precedes cognitive isolation.
The core purpose of this immersive study is to decode the intersection of spatial navigation and the internal sensation of belonging. We explore how place-based digital layers can function as narrative anchors, mitigating the heavy cognitive load and spatial anxiety associated with entering unfamiliar socio-spatial systems while fostering a renewed sense of individual agency within the landscape.
Through an iterative methodology, the experience serves as a translation layer between the physical environment and the student's internal perception. This research-driven approach prioritizes the embodied nature of transition, seeking to reduce acculturative friction by providing a safe, reflective spatial environment where belonging is not merely found, but actively constructed through presence and interaction.
